We are called to rely on God and be obedient to the quiet nudging of the Holy Spirit. In a nutshell, this is how my wife Allison and I moved to Leavenworth from Washington, DC in July 2014, and why I joined the LCN team in October 2018. From the day we moved to Leavenworth, LCN felt like family and we have been so blessed by the love and fellowship so generously given to us. If I’m not in the church office, you will find me playing guitar, woodworking, drawing, kayaking, cooking, gardening, or FaceTiming with our two grandsons. (Too many hobbies, not enough time!) My door is always open, and I am blessed to be serving our church body!
Service has always been a big part of life in the Wilcox family. My husband, Joe, and I, along with our two sons, Nick (25 years) and Zack (21 years), and our two daughters, Braede (24 years) and Abby (19 years), have been a part of service in every church that we have called home. I was called to serve on the staff at our last church and loved every minute of it. When the Spirit urged us to pack up our home in Colorado and move to Washington, we weren’t sure what our church home would look like. We are very happy to have found LCN. Then, to be asked to be a part of the church staff here, blessing upon blessing! Our children are often scattered as they figure out adult, independent life, but we love being in the Northwest and they are happy to call this home!
Our family started attending church when I was about 7 years old. Shortly after, my dad got sick and was in the hospital for 6 weeks. During this difficult time the people of our new church reached out with love to our family. As a young girl, the Lord started to tug at my heart because of the love this church extended to us. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was 9 years old! God has been so faithful to me and I continue to lean on Him daily. Our family moved to Leavenworth in August of 1977. I married my high school sweet heart Kenny, and we have two daughters. Karlen and her husband Drew have a daughter, Makena. Krista and her husband Alex have a son, Lincoln. I enjoy spending time with my kids and grandkids, and also enjoy all of the amazing things that Leavenworth has to offer: going on walks, spending time at the lake, boating, fishing, hiking and golfing.
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1978. I meet the wife of my youth in Seattle at the Space Needle Christmas Eve of the same year. We have been married for over 36 years. I enjoy fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, woodworking and fixing things. I was asked to join the LCN Staff in the fall of 2017.
